>>> BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE THEY ROCK ’N’ ROLLED

Local classic rocker Michael Stanley will host Red {an orchestra}’s annual fundraising benefit, which takes place Friday, March 3 at at 7 p.m. at the House of Blues (308 Euclid Ave., 216.241.5555). The connection? Red’s doing a night of Led Zeppelin covers that, given the orchestra’s predilection for experimentation, will likely be rearranged in imaginative ways. Tickets range from $150 and $300 for individuals to $3,500 for groups of ten.

>>> Ini Kamoze to Release double CD compilation

Ini Kamoze’s double disc anthology Debut is due for release on March 7. It has been released as a downloadable disc set on the Internet via I-Tunes.

The 24 track collection features Ini Kamoze’s early works that have been re-recorded with top musicians including guitarist Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith.

Ini Kamoze who topped the Billboard pop charts 12 years ago with Here Comes the Hot Stepper, wrote and sung the popular Worl a Reggae Music single that features the line ‘Out in the Streets they call it murder’ that Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley sampled in his chart topping Grammy winning hit single Welcome to Jamrock.

Kamoze was featured in the January 2006 issue of Vibe magazine in the Boomshots section. He was recently featured in Gargamel and Echoes magazines in Europe. He is currently working on an album of new material with the working title 51/50 Rule. It is expected out later this year.
